C-REACTIVE PROTEIN RESPONSE IN ANGINA PECTORIS
C-reactive protein (CRP) response was studied in 44 patients with acute angina pectoris admitted to the coronary care unit. 71 % of patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI)had positive CRP test while 73% of patients presumed to have unstable angina pectoris had negative CRP test. This test can be helpful in differentiating between acute MI and unstable angina pectoris.

متن کاملSerial study of C reactive protein in neonatal septicaemia.
Serial C reactive protein concentrations were assayed by electroimmunoassay in 41 infants. Values in most of the non-infected infants were below 0.3 mg/dl, the lower limit of detection of C reactive protein by electroimmunoassay. Eleven of 12 infants with proved sepsis (positive blood cultures) had significantly raised concentrations and one infant with recurrent pseudomonas chest infection had...
متن کاملC-reactive protein (CRP) in early diagnosis of neonatal septicemia.
The usefulness of CRP in early detection of neonatal septicemia/meningitis and urinary tract infection was studied in a neonatal unit using a semiquantitative latex-agglutination as a rapid screening method, and electroimmuno assay as reference method for CRP determination. In 94% of non-infected infants CRP was less than or equal to 15 mg/l and 82% had CRP less than 10 mg/l up to 3 days of age...
متن کاملDiagnostic Accuracy of C-Reactive Protein in Neonatal Sepsis
Sepsis is the most common cause of neonatal mortality and is responsible for 30-50% of total neonatal deaths each year in developing countries. The objective of the study was to determine the diagnostic accuracy of Creactive protein (CRP) in neonatal sepsis. Fifty nine consecutive patients with risk factors and clinical features suggestive of CRP sepsis were selected as per operational definiti...
